House that! Accountant Geoff Lotter forks out millions for Mosman Park mansion

The third most expensive home in WA’s history has settled, with accountant Geoff Lotter forking out $25 million for a Mosman Park mansion. The property, sold by investment banker Clayton Freind and wife Annelise, was initially slated to earn $40m, which would have made it WA’s second most costly home. But a $15m discount pushed it to third place. It seems a prudent choice by Lotter, who is the chair of the audit and risk committee at the State Solicitor’s Office, with the sellers having spent $20.4m in 2007 to acquire the land alone. Ironically Lotter, who now owns WA’s third most expensive house, is also involved in providing housing for the poor and disabled, as non-executive director of Housing Choices. The four-bedroom home was sold through agent Willie Porteous who once said it was a bargain at $40m by east coast standards. Speaking from Dubai yesterday, he said it drew five offers. Set on 1678sqm block with a pool and tennis court, the mansion overlooks the Swan River and Freshwater Bay Yacht Club on one side and across a golf course to Fremantle Port and the Indian Ocean on the other. WA’s house price record is $57.5m for a Mosman Park home in 2009, followed by $27.5m for a Dalkeith home in 2020. Efforts were made to contact Lotter who bought through Acquato Property Holdings.
