Chart-topping roots rock king John Butler has unveiled dates for his first post-pandemic national tour.

The Californian-born and Pinjarra-raised artist boasting four ARIA No. 1 albums will kick off a nine-date east coast tour in Newcastle on May 19, before heading home for seven WA shows in June.

Butler will share stories from the road and play songs from his catalogue spanning quarter of a century in Albany, Esperance, Kalgoorlie, Mandurah, Geraldton and Exmouth, plus a big gig at the Perth Concert Hall on June 20.

The outdoor concert in Exmouth will be his first ever show in the North West Cape town.

His wife Danielle Caruana, better known as powerhouse singer-songwriter Mama Kin, will join Butler for all WA shows except Esperance and Kalgoorlie.

“I’m really, really looking forward to this tour,” Butler said.

“It’s been a wacky ol’ year for all of us in so many ways and to be able to go out and play music for the community AND myself feels like a bit of good healing.

“When I take a look around the world and see how hard some folks are doing it at the moment this feels like a huge privilege.”

Tickets go on sale on April 19.
