Albany-Bayswater booked their place in the Albany Junior Soccer Association under-14s final with a preliminary final win over fourth-placed Bethel last weekend.

Bayswater will face Rovers in the decider after a hat-trick from Ben Queay helped them to the 5-3 win.

Bayswater were hot favourites but it was Bethel who hit the ground running, with Ehgu Thay picking up a long ball and beating the keeper within the first 30 seconds of the match.

Bayswater slowly worked their way into the game before Ben Queay equalised, striking with his left foot from the edge of the box.

After they levelled the scores, Bayswater then looked stronger and took the lead when Josh Tracey scored from close range.

Thay netted his second goal of the match to help Bethel draw level after latching on to another long ball.

Queay found the back of the net for a second time just before half-time to give Bayswater a 3-2 lead.

In the second half, Bethel scored with a delightful chip over the keeper which trickled over the goal line despite the efforts of the desperate defenders.

Bank Corser lofted a long-range ball which just dipped under the cross bar and found the back of the net for Bayswater, and it seemed to have the desired effect as Bethel struggled to get hold of the ball.

Queay netted his hat-trick and put the tie beyond doubt when he poked the ball home in a congested box as Bayswater went on to win by two goals.

Polonia’s defence were outstanding in their under-13s match with Denmark Black as they secured their grand final berth against the unbeaten Stirling Rangers.

Mila Trichilo, Aaron Orr and Shelley Thompson were in outstanding form, playing with great composure and limiting Denmark’s attacking opportunities.

Merlin Bew netted the first goal of the game for Polonia just before the end of the first half.

Denmark battled hard, especially their central midfielder Reuben Winter, who covered every blade of grass trying to lift his team.

A long-range strike from Oliver Marsh that found its way into the goals put the tie to bed and guided Polonia into the decider against Stirling Rangers this Saturday, after they had a hard fought 2-1 win over John Calvin.
