Narrikup 9 progressed straight through to tomorrow’s Albany Netball Association B5 grand final after a hard-fought semifinal with Royals Saints 8 last Saturday.

With a grand final spot at stake, it started off as a very close game as any final should but Narrikup led at quarter-time by one goal.

The second quarter was equally as consistent with both teams struggling to score in the first five to 10 minutes, however Narrikup found their feet with the help of goalkeeper Abigail Maslij making lots of remarkable intercepts.

Royals Saints centre Tiannah Dixon was a huge asset to the team with her excellent leading skills and fast pace down the court and this was made all the more impressive by playing a whole game in the position.

In the third, Narrikup’s dynamic shooting duo Krystal Prunster and Evie Brenton-Reed had their eye in as they extended the margin to eight goals by three-quarter-time.

Royals Saints continued to fight hard in the last quarter, netting seven goals, but Narrikup scored eight of their own and their pressure down the court was too strong in the first half of the game, as they won through to the grand final, 25-15.

Narrikup 10 defeated Bethel 5, 20-9, knocking the latter out of the competition.

Royals Saints 8 took on Narrikup 10 in Wednesday night’s preliminary final.
