More than a dozen women have claimed to have been stalked by the same man whom they mostly met online.

An extensive investigation was sparked as a result, leading to the arrest of a 35-year-old man from Andrews Farm in Adelaide’s north.

He was charged with 21 offences, including 16 counts of stalking against 16 different women.

According to SA Police, the offences happened over an eight-year period between 2013 and 2021 at various locations across metropolitan Adelaide.

Mainly women aged in their 30s were targeted.

It is also alleged that the accused approached the majority of the women online through dating apps and websites as well as on prominent marketplace sites where he’d send random social media requests to make contact.

“Police would like to remind the public to be conscious of their online safety and cautious of the information they share, particularly when they are contacted by people they do not know,” SA Police said in a statement.

The man was refused police bail and will appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday.
