Busselton fundraising team donates $20,000 to flying doctor following successful winter raffle

A team of South West volunteers have raised more than $20,000 for a medical service vital to regional and remote areas. The Busselton Royal Flying Doctor Service’s fundraising team recently held a winter raffle to help purchase aeronautical medical equipment for the not-for-profit organisation’s WA operations. A total of 2000 tickets were sold to people living across the State, with all three winners - Steve Sumich, Rod Hill and Suzie Carter - from the Busselton area. Fundraising team president Jacinta Lee said the prizes were donated by local businesses and “warmed winter hearts” as locals snapped up tickets to enter. The team’s next fundraiser is a quiz night set to be held at Busselton’s Senior Citizens Hall on October 5. “Again, we’ll have great prizes from local businesses and tickets are available soon via Humanitix,” Ms Lee said.
