One lucky ticket holder in WA claimed more than $63 million in last night’s Powerball as two winners claimed a share of the staggering $127 million jackpot.

In total two lucky punters will take home $63,309,057 each after claiming the Division One prize — after matching the seven winning numbers and the Powerball.

It is believed the winning ticket was sold in Kalgoorlie, to a syndicate of 250 people, meaning each person will take home roughly $250,000.

There were also big wins for 20 other WA players, who each claimed more than $77,000 with a Division Two win. They were among 36 winners of that prize around Australia.

The life-changing win comes after a remarkable run of big prize scalps for WA Lotto players.

Just two months ago a group of 55 women from a northern suburbs gym hit headlines after they took home $1.5 million each after their syndicate scooped the entire $80 million Powerball jackpot.

The gym buddies, who all attended Curves Heathridge at the Belridge Shopping Centre, chipped in $5 each for the ticket, which took out the biggest prize pool in years.

A number of the winners had been out at a Christmas dinner at an Italian restaurant in Heathridge when they found out.

And there was a big win this time last year, when one lucky Sandgroper scooped the entire $30 million OZ Lotto jackpot — then the State’s biggest Lotto prize since March 2016.

In 2019, a Sydney woman claimed the biggest individual prize ever won in Australian lotto history, an eye-watering $107,575,649.

Last night’s winning numbers were 6, 15, 9, 27, 32, 28 and 33. The Powerball was 8.
