A local dance studio has been recognised on the national stage for their pre-school dance program.

Jazz Attack Performing Arts Studio Busselton/Bunbury recently attended the READY SET DANCE Conference in Sydney, where they took home the title of Best Regional Studio across Australia and New Zealand.

Pitched against 14 finalists, Jazz Attack READY SET DANCE coordinator Tara Howson said the team was very excited to win such a significant award.

“It’s definitely a great win for a little South West, Western Australia studio,” she said.

Of all the awards given out the conference, most were decided by public vote, however this prize was judged by the READY SET DANCE directors.

“We’ve had to turn in information on how the studio is going and the directors sit down and look at all those aspects and decide an overall winner.”

Running out of the South West studio for the past four years, Jazz Attack currently hosts more than 150 pre-schoolers each week across their READY SET DANCE and READY SET MOVE programs.

The READY SET DANCE program looks to create a “fun and fresh preschool dance curriculum for their own dance studios” and is licensed to 260 dance studios across Australia and New Zealand with 20,000 pre-schoolers attending weekly.

This year the program was taken to the United States, Canada and United Kingdom.
