Disabled Indigenous boy was failed by WA Department of Communities, Royal Commission hears
The WA Department of Communities has been accused of failing to provide proper care to Aboriginal children with disabilities in out-of-home care, a Royal Commission has heard.
The national inquiry into violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability heard testimony on Tuesday from a Perth carer, who said doctors’ medical advice for her seven-year-old foster child was not followed by the Department and led to delays in diagnosis and treatment.
