Barbecues all over Perth are set to fire up this weekend with sunny weather predicted for voting day.

As West Aussies head to the polling booth (and to grab a snag) on Saturday, the weather is set to be a “beautiful” 25C.

The rain the metro area has seen over the past few days due to a cold front is set to clear, Jessica Lingard, Duty Forecaster at the Bureau of Meteorology said.

“A cold front has moved through. Lingering showers will continue, but there won’t be a huge amount of rain.

“Saturday… the weather will clear up… perfect timing for the election.

“It will be a beautiful warm day.”

But the pleasant weather will be short-lived, with a more severe cold front set to move in on Sunday

“A cold front is set to move in again on Sunday, bringing an awful lot of rain to the whole west coast,” Ms Lingard said.

The cold front is expected to drop 10 to 20 millimetres of rain on Sunday, and a whopping 30 to 40 millimetres on Monday.
