Cameron Green will get another chance to push his Test match claims, sent from the T20 squad to play for Australia A in their three-day match starting tomorrow.

The rising WA cricket star is one of seven Test squad members looking to impress Aussie selectors ahead of the First Test against India in Adelaide starting December 17.

It’s been a whirlwind week for young Green, after he made his debut for Australia in the third ODI against India last Wednesday.

Green joins Aussie Test skipper Tim Paine, openers Joe Burns and Will Pucovski, batsman Travis Head, and bowlers Michael Neser and James Pattinson in the team to face India A at Drummoyne Oval in Sydney.

The group will also get another chance to impress when Australia A faces India in a tour match at the SCG starting December 11.

Spinner Nathan Lyon will come into Australia’s T20 line up to replace Green, joining Mitchell Swepson as a new addition to the squad.

It follows confirmation West Aussie spinner Ashton Agar will miss the remainder of the series with a calf injury.

Agar struggled to run at times in the final ODI match against India last Wednesday and was overlooked for selection in Friday’s T20 opener loss.

Wicketkeeper Matthew Wade is tipped to replace injured skipper Aaron Finch as captain for Sunday’s second T20 — should the opener be ruled out.

Finch is still waiting on results from scans on his injured hip/buttock region.

The Aussies are already without David Warner (groin), Pat Cummins (rested), Mitchell Starc (soreness) and all-rounder Marcus Stoinis (side).
