Perth Glory are on the hunt for a new defender after Japanese international Kosuke Ota and the A-League club parted ways.

The final year of Ota’s contract was terminated by mutual consent.

Ota, 34, missed half of last season’s wooden spoon campaign with injury and his loss comes as Glory prepare for their long pre-season.

But his departure opens up an overseas payer spot for coach Ruben Kadkovich who is looking to put his own mark on a new-look squad.
