Robert Lewandowski has scored yet again in Bayern Munich's 7-0 rout of promoted Bochum in the Bundesliga, stretching his amazing run to 19 consecutive games across all competitions for the champions.

The Poland star's second-half goal on Saturday also ensured he became the first Bundesliga player to score in 13 consecutive home games as Bayern went top of the league on their quest for a 10th successive title.

Visiting Bochum had made a solid start until Leroy Sane opened the scoring with a brilliant free kick in the 17th minute with Bayern's first shot on target.

Sane then set up Joshua Kimmich in the 27th and Serge Gnabry picked the far corner for Bayern's third in the 32nd.

An own goal from Vasilios Lampropoulos completed a first half to forget for Bochum before Poland's Lewandowski made it 5-0 just after the hour mark to extend his club-record run which has seen him net in every game since February 15.

He's also moved within one game of Gerd Muller's German record of having scored in 16 league matches in a row.

Kimmich got his second goal four minutes later before substitute Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting made it 7-0 in the 79th.

Elsewhere, last season's runners-up RB Leipzig, fresh from their Champions League hammering by Manchester City, were held 1-1 at Cologne to remain in the lowlands with just one victory, despite Amadou Haidara cancelling out the home side's lead through Anthony Modeste.

Modeste let the tears come after scoring for his late father, who died after illness aged 64 in December 2018.

"Papa's birthday is today," Modeste told Sky TV, becoming tearful. "Yeah, it's emotional for me. I lost my father three years ago and he's very important to me."

It was Modeste's fourth goal in five league games this season.

Florian Niederlechner's late goal gave Augsburg a 1-0 victory, their first win of the season, over Borussia Monchengladbach while there were goalless draws between Mainz and Freiburg and also at Arminia Bielefeld against Hoffenheim.
