Popular cartoon Bluey has added another feather to its cap, winning Book of the Year at the Australian Book Industry Awards.

Bluey: The Beach became the first children’s book to take home the publishing accolade.

The adventures of the blue heeler and her family has proved hugely successful, with the TV show scoring a prestigious Emmy earlier this year.

The award is judged by more than 250 esteemed publishing industry figures and aims to shine a light on Australian writing, publishing and bookselling.

The Bluey franchise continues to spawn success, with “The Beach” becoming the highest selling title under the Bluey umbrella last year.
