Home and Away RECAP: Susie made a lot of nemeses during her short time in Summer Bay
Susie made a lot of nemeses during her short time in Summer Bay so the new hot cop is getting acquainted with the locals pretty quickly.
John, Leah, Justin, Maz and Irene are all mixed up in the fray. Yes even the very perfect Maz isn’t spared.
“You’ll be fine, he’s a good bloke,” John says to Maz.
Indeed Cash, the hot cop, does appear to be a “good bloke” and not one of these double murdering cops like his predecessor Colby.
There’s already a few details about the body which really comes as a shock given the SBPD are pretty slow at investigating.
The time the diner was robbed last year and the cops forgot about it? Anyone? Or when Nikau stole a car with precious baby Gracie in the back?
Cash has only been in town for days and he’s already wise to his department's ineptness.
“Someone’s been slack with their filing,” Cash says about the “texts” between Susie and John that he’s just heard about.
John is the first person taken down to the station for questioning.
Reliving the pain that Susie brought him has left him “rattled”.
“She was playing me,” John tells Cash.
“That must hurt,” Cash replies.
“Damn well killed me,” John says.
The police are “operating on the assumption” the body is Susie and “given how long the body was in the water, whoever you were texting, it wasn’t her.”
John appears to be off the hook for now and begins the “what if’s” because he thinks he could have saved the woman that stole all his money.
Leah and Justin go next.
Leah gets the sympathy vote as Cash has had the “pleasure” of Justin’s company in jail the night before.
Justin isn’t afforded the benefit of the doubt since he’s already admitted he has no sympathy for Susie.
After the initial excitement of Susie’s dead body ending Summer Bay’s dead body streak, I’m not sure I care either.
How long will we be guessing who did it when it’s probably that Stephen Something and we don’t even know him. Losing Stephen Something isn’t exactly going to send shock waves through the lounge rooms of Home and Away fans.
Despite that, Justin seems pretty suss.
“Mr Morgan, I’ve been here less than a week and in that time I’ve arrested you for assault, your own sister wanted you in lock-up and days later the body washes up of a women you’ve openly admitted you hate,” Cash says.
Mr Morgan wants his lawyer now.
Then he does what he’s been doing a lot of lately. Blaming Leah for everything that’s going wrong.
“I’m annoyed because you threw me under with bus with that cop,” Justin says.
“You and that cop had a cosy little chat didn’t cha?”
Leah is usually pretty tolerant but she’s starting to come around to the idea of dumping her moronic boyfriend and storms out.
Hurricane Mac also continues to terrorise the town, well her brother Dean.
Last night Mac declared she’s moving out of Dean’s house because he’s smothering her, but Dean won’t accept her choice and proceeds to smother her even more.
“I hate myself and I need to change that,” Mac says.
Things escalate pretty quickly and after Dean stations himself at Salt to keep an eye on Mac, refusing to leave, the most ridiculous thing happens. She calls the cops on him.
How convenient that Cash is in town to escort the “customer causing problems”.
“I need you to come with me,” Cash says.
“If you check you’ll see he has a criminal record,” Mac adds.
I get that Dean wants to help, plus he’s got to fill the gaping hole once filled by his son Jai so he has no purpose in life, but it’s only have the opposite effect.
