The Defender, formerly known as the Land Rover Defender, has received a more powerful diesel engine and various specification changes for 2025.

First deliveries of model year 2025 vehicles will begin in September 2024.

The new D350 3.0-litre turbo-diesel inline-six produces 258kW of power and 700Nm of torque, up 37kW and 50Nm on the D300 engine it replaces.

There’s a new Sedona Edition of the Defender 110, with its Sedona Red paint – first seen on the 130 – inspired by the Arizona city it’s named after. It’ll be offered for one model year.

Based on the D350 X-Dynamic HSE, it gains Ebony Windsor leather and Kvadrat upholstery, while the exterior gets an Extended Black Pack.

This includes black badging, skid plates and grille, plus 22-inch Gloss Black alloy wheels.

There’s a body-coloured spare wheel cover, with an optional bonnet decal depicting the topography of Sedona, plus an optional body-colour side-mounted gear carrier. You can also add Gloss Black side steps and wheel arches.

Speaking of options, there are various new packages for 2025.

A Captain Chairs Pack for the Defender 130 brings a pair of separate heated and ventilated chairs in the second row with armrests and winged headrests. Cupholders are situated on a raised area behind the front centre console.

A Signature Interior Pack is optional on X-Dynamic HSE models across all body styles, and standard on all X and V8 variants.

It brings 14-way power-adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation and memory, plus winged headrests. The second-row seats are also heated and ventilated and, in 110 and 130 models, feature winged headrests.

Defender 130 models with the package also get heated third-row seats.

The package can be had with Windsor Leather and Kvadrat upholstery in Ebony or Caraway/Ebony colourways, or Ultrafabrics upholstery in a Light Cloud/Lunar colourway.

There are also “softer accents” throughout the cabin, a powder-coated metallic grey finish for the “exposed cross car beam” in the cabin, Suedecloth headlining, Satin Black and chrome interior accents, and new centre console side pockets to keep smaller items secure.

In addition to D300-badged Defenders making way for more powerful D350 models, some of the more affordable versions of the off-roader that were offered for model year 2024 have gotten the axe.

However, the British brand has cut prices for various models including the entry-level Defender 90 D250 S.
