IN PICTURES: Racing, music and sunshine draw big crowds to Mt Barker Cup for Michelle Parsons Pink Ladies Day

The Mt Barker Cup and Michelle Parsons Pink Ladies Day were crowd favourites on Sunday with locals and visitors filling the Frost Park racecourse for a day full of racing and entertainment. Seven races took place across the afternoon with the first one at 2pm and the final race concluding the day at 5.30pm. The main event - the Wellington & Reeves Mount Barker Cup (2000m) - was claimed by Deadly And Fast, trained by Alan Smith and ridden by jockey Lisa Staples, drawing loud cheers from the crowd as they crossed the line. Between races, fashions on the field brought a splash of colour to the day with racegoers stepping out in eye-catching outfits and classic race day style. Live music was played throughout the afternoon while people gathered under the clear skies to soak up the sun and watch the races. The strong turnout from crowds rounded out a fabulous community day at the Mt Barker Turf Club.
