ServiceWA kiosk helps Albany locals claim fuel, school & other rebates with free digital support this week

Albany residents will have a new helping hand to access hundreds of dollars in cost-of-living relief when a ServiceWA Digital Assist Kiosk opens at Albany Public Library this week.

The kiosk will operate from Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 4pm, offering free face-to-face assistance to residents who need help setting up their Digital ID and accessing the ServiceWA app.

The ServiceWA app provides a convenient way for eligible West Australians to access a range of cost-of-living payments, including the $100 Fuel Support Payment and the WA Student Assistance Payment.

The WASAP provides $150 for kindergarten and primary school students and $250 for high school students, helping families with the cost of education.

The $100 Fuel Support Payment is available to anyone with a valid WA drivers license.

The Albany kiosk is one of more than 20 being established across WA.

Residents do not need to book an appointment and the service is free.

Those attending are asked to bring a charged smart device with ServiceWA and myID apps installed, two Australian identity documents and their bank details, including their BSB and account number.

Parents and carers applying for the WASAP will also need their child’s WA student number, which can be found on school reports, NAPLAN results or school issued SmartRiders.

The ServiceWA app also provides access to other rebates including the Tackle Shop Rebate, which offers eligible holders of a current recreational fishing from boat licence a $50 rebate on fishing gear.

The Treebate also offers up to $150 for planting native trees.

Education Minister Sabine Winton said these services will make it easier for West Australians to claim assistance payments.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for every family with school children to claim the WA Student Assistance Payment,” she said.

“The ServiceWA app is the fastest way to do this, and these ServiceWA Digital Assist Kiosks have in person support to assist anyone wanting to help to set up their profile.

“We know these payments are providing valuable support for families paying for school supplies, whether it’s buying uniforms, stationary or other school essentials.”
