Passengers travelling through Perth Airport have been warned to expect delays as a power outage disrupts terminal operations on Thursday afternoon.
Perth Airport confirmed the outage in a statement on social media, warning travellers that flights could be impacted.
“Perth Airport is currently experiencing a power outage that is impacting terminal operations,” the statement read.
“Safety and security remain our highest priority, and passengers should expect some delays.”
A spokesperson from Perth Airport said works are underway, but locals should expect delays.
“Services are progressively returning to operation across Perth Airport’s terminals, however delays are still expected,” they said.
“We thank passengers for their understanding.”
Live schedules are showing Qantas, Virgin and Jetstar are all experiencing delays to flights but passengers are encouraged to check with their airlines for the latest flight information.
Western Power estimates the power won’t be restored until 7.30pm.
The airport said it would provide further updates as information becomes available.
