Top sides Allstars and Kojonup added important wins to their Katanning Netball Association A-grade campaigns on Saturday as the competition returned from winter break.
Allstars defeated Olympians 57-33 in the first A-grade game of the weekend, but Olympians put up a strong fight in the first half, lagging behind by only one goal by the end of the first quarter.
However, Allstars found their rhythm by the end of the second term, netting five unanswered goals in the last four minutes of play to give themselves a nine goal lead heading into the second half.
From there, Olympians struggled to close the gap, and Allstars pulled away to win by 24 goals.
In the second A-grade game, Kojonup put on a clinical display, putting up a nine goal lead by the first change, and pushing ahead throughout the rest of the game to consistently widen their leading margin.
By the fourth quarter, Kojonup were leading 37-11, and they added another 11 goals to their haul in the final term to finish with final scores of 48-17.
In the A-reserves competition, Allstars and Kojonup notched two more victories over Broomehill and Olympians, respectively.
Allstars recorded a confident 50-44 victory over Broomehill, while Kojonup and Olympians played a close game, with Kojonup keeping hold of a slim early lead to win by five goals.
Kojonup finished the first term with a four-goal lead, but Olympians pushed hard in the second quarter to close the gap, and the two teams were tied at 19 goals at the long break.
They were goal for goal through the third term, but Kojonup kept the pressure on and got ahead in the fourth, finishing five goals ahead with the scores at 43-38.
Olympians and Kia Ora walked off winners in the B-grade competition.
Olympians stayed just ahead of Cardinals Fever, finishing the game with a close victory, with final scores at 42-38.
Kia Ora looked confident from the first whistle, opening up a 13 goal lead by the end of the first term and continuing to widen the margin throughout the rest of the game, finishing with a 64-44 victory.
In the C-grade competition, Cardinals Phoenix and Allstars both recorded confident wins over Kia Ora and Olympians.
Cardinals made an early lead last, finishing with a 21-goal win, while Allstars overcame a slow start to turn the game in their favour with a clinical second half, walking off with the 42-22 win.
