Katanning Netball Association celebrated its top players, umpires and volunteers of the 2026 season at its annual awards night last month.
The Katanning Leisure and Function Centre hosted players, coaches, umpires and club officials for an evening of celebration on August 29 after a hugely competitive season across all the senior grades.
Kojonup shooter Sheridan Kowald took home the biggest award of the night as she was named best and fairest in the A-grade competition after a stellar season with one of the top teams.
Allstars’ Lara Rodney also polled well all season, coming in as runner-up in a tight count.
Rodney also took home the award for most improved junior playing in the senior competition, reflecting a season of hard work amongst experienced players.
Teammate Joshiquwa Wynne took home the coaches’ award after a consistent season as one of Allstars’ best defenders.
Kojonup’s Amy Williams took out the top gong for the A-reserve competition, with Allstars’ Jannali Seelander and Olympians’ Jaime-Lee Flugge finishing as joint runners-up.
Sandra Clues won the B-grade fairest and best award, while Kia Ora’s Darci Kerei was runner-up.
In the C-grade, Allstars teammates Rosanna Woods and Penelope-Lee Kumeroa-Puru won fairest and best and runner-up, respectively.
Association secretary Kirsty Flugge was named volunteer of the year, recognising her hard work behind the scenes helping keep the association organised and running well all season, while Addison O’Neill won junior volunteer of the year.
Brenna Schloithe took home the senior umpire of the year award, rewarding her hard work and skill umpiring games throughout the season.
