One West Australian has become an instant millionaire after taking out a division one prize in Saturday night’s Lotto draw.
There were five division one winners across the country, with each taking home a life-changing $1,276,481.57. Only one of those winning tickets was sold in Western Australia.
The winning numbers were 36, 17, 15, 37, 28 and 24, with supplementary numbers 12 and 18.
Ten West Australians also celebrated division two wins, pocketing $11,758.35 each, while another 125 Sandgropers claimed $1033 apiece in division three.
The win comes just two days after a single Australian scooped the entire $40 million Powerball jackpot on Thursday night, ending a run of consecutive jackpot draws that had seen the prize pool climb week after week.
While the latest division one winner has become an instant millionaire, sudden wealth can bring unexpected challenges.
One young Brit who won $7.6 million earlier this year revealed that he became embroiled in a bitter family dispute after offering his parents $1.4 million as a thank-you gift — an amount he claimed they rejected. He has since invested the bulk of his winnings.
