Dribblers cruise past Hawks with dominant 54-30 win in the Manjimup Basketball league.

The feature match of Wednesday night at the Manjimup Indoor Sports Pavilion proved to be a thrilling back-and-forth battle, eventually ending in the Barracudas favour.

There was little to separate the sides for much of the match, as the Barracudas edged out the bullets 57-51.

Early scores from Luke Tidy and Braden Wilson gave the Barracudas a slight edge, before the Bullets answered through Chayce Stacpoole and Koby Brown to keep the contest tight.

Neither side was able to break clear before the main break, with defensive pressure forcing rushed shots and frequent turnovers, leaving scores 18-15 in the Barracudas favour.

Jakeb Burford sparked the Barracudas with a run of three three-pointers, briefly stretching his team out to eight points clear..

The Bullets refused to back down, responding with strong inside work from Stacpoole and timely shooting from Riley Heterington to close the gap once more to within three.

This was disrupted by a second three three-pointers streak by Burford, who pushed the margin out to 14.

With the game now in the balance late, the Barracudas showed composure under pressure, moving the ball well and capitalising on key moments.

Burford finished with 29-points in a match defining performance, while the Bullets were well served by Stacpoole’s 22.

In the evenings other battles, The Dribblers produced a convincing win over the Hawks on Wednesday night, after an exceptionally dominant first half.

Setting the tone early through strong offensive pressure, The Dribblers built up a solid lead to enter into the first break, stretching the margin out to 33-17.

Linkin Hopcraft was especially unstoppable for the leading side, scoring four three-pointers in the half’s first seven minutes.

This offensive push continued for the rest of the match, with the Hawks having little luck to end The Dribblers relentless march toward victory.

Dribbler Travis Clark sealed the deal, nailing two-points as the final siren went, and ending the match with a game-high 19 points.

Linkin Hopcraft was equally as impressive, top-scoring for the Dribblers and the match with 20 points.

For the Hawks, Liam Edwards fought hard to finish with 13 points, whilst Brandy Armstrong added 11 in a determined effort.

Across the court, the Purple Cobras held their nerve in a fast paced win over the Wolfpack.

The Cobras started strongly, jumping out to an early lead after Riley Mason found the basket repeatedly in the opening minutes.

The Wolfpack responded with steady scoring from Kai McGinty and Aaron Pedlar, gradually closing the gap after trialling early.

By halftime, the Cobras still held a narrow advantage, at 28 points to 22.

This momentum shifted in the second half as the Wolfpack lifted their defensive pressure and began converting at the offensive end.

John Mcginty and Kia McGinty combined for a series of key baskets, bringing the Wolfpack within a three point margin at the 11-minute mark.

The wolfpack continued to fight, but a late run of baskets from the Cobras stretched the margin. put to 13 as the final siren rang.

The Cobras found the win on 63-pints to the Wolfpacks 50.

Kai McGinty put on an offensive masterclass, leading the match with an impressive 27 points for the Wolfpack, with Mason scoring 15-points for the Cobras.

Both Connor Tempra of the Wolves and Cobra captain Aaron Pedlar nailed four three-pointers each in what proved to be a very exciting match.
