The Manjimup community had a fun start to the festive season at the annual Family Festive Fun Night in the CBD on Friday.

The annual event is an opportunity to celebrate turning on the Christmas lights in the Manjimup CBD, welcome Father Christmas into town, encourage people to buy local during the festive season and provide children with a fun night out.

Organised by the Manjimup Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the event also included a bouncy castle, a sausage sizzle and fireworks.

“We had close to 1000 people there across the night,” co-organiser Rose Moyle said.

“The food places were very busy and while I haven’t spoken to businesses yet about how they did, I thought it all went well.

“DJ Rev was also a hit, he really knows how to get the crowd going – he’s so engaging.”

Mrs Moyle said the night was also a great lead up to the Manjimup Cherry Harmony Festival, which was held on Saturday.
