Mixjuz win Warren Women’s Hockey Association grand final

Mixjuz have taken out the 2022 Warren Women’s Hockey Association A-Grade grand final.

They came out swinging to defeat Nationals 3-1 in an epic show of speed and agility in the climax of another stellar and hard-fought year.

Mixjuz scored the first goal of the match but before long Nationals answered with a goal of their own, setting the tone for the rest of the match.

Both sides fought hard but Mixjuz proved to be the better side, scoring another two goals during the match with incredible striking prowess.

In the end the minor premiership winners could not be stopped, with stand-out performances from Rebel Ward and Jenae Cawley, who also hit the scoreboard alongside Victoria Howe.

Mixjuz team captain Sharon Hargrave said the team did really well to defeat the Nationals.

“It was a tough game,” she said.

“The Nationals are always a tough team to beat, so we did well to get on top.”

Hargrave thanked team coaches Charles and John for an amazing season.

“They’ve really helped improve the team structure this year,” she said.

In the B-grade decider, Nationals came away 1-0 winners in a tightly fought match against the Cougars.

Tyla Giumelli scored the only goal of the match.
