Police have located an 81-year-old woman who had not been seen since the early hours of Thursday.

Seija Kaarina Murphy was last seen about 3.30am in the vicinity of Waterloo Street in Joondanna.

Residents in the area were asked to check their backyards, sheds and garages, as well as any nearby vacant blocks or thoroughfares.

Thankfully, Ms Murphy has since been found.
