A 32-year-old man charged after police found machinery on Nambeelup property allegedly stolen from grain site

A 32-year-old man has been arrested after police discovered machinery worth $60,000 on a Nambeelup property that is alleged to have been stolen from a Wheatbelt grain site in February. Officers from Boddington, Williams and Dwellingup police executed a search warrant at a property in Nambeelup, east of Mandurah, on March 20. During the search they discovered a yellow trailer-mounted lighting tower and a yellow skid steer, two of the three vehicles that had been allegedly stolen from a grain service site on Coalfields Road in Arthur River earlier this year. Between 6pm on January 31 and 6.30am on February 1, an unknown person entered the grain service and allegedly stole a Caterpillar Skid Steer 2015 model loader and loaded it onto a trailer before leaving in an unknown vehicle. A few days later, between 5pm on February 3 and 5.30am on February 4, an unknown person forced entry into the same site and stole two light towers. After locating the items, police seized the two machines and returned them to the grain service. A man from Madora Bay was charged with one count of possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property, and one count of receiving. He is due to appear in Mandurah Magistrates Court on April 14. Police say the investigation remained ongoing.
