Ugly crash shuts part of Mitchell Freeway as emergency crews respond to early-morning traffic chaos

Emergency crews are at the scene of an ugly crash between two cars that has blocked a lane of traffic.

The crash on Mitchell Freeway heading southbound near Burns Beach Road in Neerabup was reported at about 6am on Thursday.

St John Ambulance paramedics took a man in his 30s and a man in his 50s to Joondalup Health Campus under normal road conditions.

Main Roads warned drivers the right lane was partially blocked, with heavy traffic building up in the area.

Motorists were told traffic was slow on approach and reminded to merge safely.
