The fun and sense of community is what draws Manjimup’s Bradley Kammann to events like the Kin Kin Rodeo.

Mr Kammann has been involved in the rodeo world for about seven years and at the Kin Kin Rodeo on February 10 he will be working as a “protection athlete”.

More commonly known as a rodeo clown, Mr Kammann is there for safety of the bull riders.

“We stand between them and the bull and take the bull’s attention,” he said.

Mr Kammann started his rodeo career as a bull rider and then took on bronc riding before a bad injury stopped him riding and he became a rodeo clown.

“I like the excitement and these people have become my mates and I like that I’m there to protect them,” he said.

Tickets are available at www.kinkinretreat.com.au with doors opening at 3pm, the main event at 6pm and a band at 10pm.
