South West residents have less than two weeks left to submit their art to the South West Virtual Arts Spectacular competition, with hundreds of creative entries already flooding in.

Project coordinator Lisa O’Neill said the online art workshops that ran as part of the event were a great success.

“These art workshops were held on Zoom and encouraged everyone to keep up the learning of new art skills from home, provided by professional South West artists and two special guests from Perth,” Ms O’Neill said.

“Since the opening of the online exhibition on May 10, over 100 South West artists and students have registered, uploading over 300 posts of amazing artwork.

We just want to offer all our South West artists the opportunity to share their art work on this page, and in return hopefully local residents and businesses will be able to support these artists by buying some of their work.

Ms O’Neill encouraged artists to express how they currently view the world for the competition’s theme, “Colour My World 2020”.

Entries close on Sunday, June 7, and participants will go in the draw to win a share of the cash prize pool of $3450.

Winners will be announced on Saturday, June 13.
