Put down the cereal bowl and head straight to Bunnings this Saturday because a favourite West Aussie weekend feast is about to fire up for the most heartwarming cause of the year.
Bunnings stores across WA will fire up the BBQ from 8am to 4pm for a mega Telethon sausage sizzle, with 100 per cent of proceeds going to Telethon.
The Saturday snag spree is just the delicious appetiser to Telethon, WA’s biggest giving weekend that brings together star power, smiles and West Australian generosity - all for the children who need it most.
Every dollar raised through Telethon goes towards helping Western Australian children living with illness, disability and disadvantage.
On every other weekend of the year, Bunnings hands the tongs to community groups to run the carpark sausage sizzle to raise money for their own needs.
Today, it will be Bunnings staff selling the hot dogs and taking additional donations to support Western Australia’s favourite cause.
Hopes are high that hungry and generous West Australians can help smash last year’s record six-figure contribution.
“We’re firing up the barbecues at all Bunnings stores across WA this Saturday, with all funds raised going to Telethon to support Western Australian children living with illness, disability and disadvantage,” Bunnings head of community, partnerships and events Michelle Walter said.

“Last year’s sausage sizzle raised $102,000, and we’d love to beat that result this year.
“Every dollar makes a difference, and we’re proud to get behind a cause that’s close to the hearts of so many West Aussies.
“Supporting our local communities is at the heart of what we do and we know our customers love a Bunnings sausage sizzle.
“It’s a simple way to bring everyone together, enjoy a snag and help Telethon continue its important work for WA children and their families.”
West Aussies can also show their support by donating at the register.
Telethon begins Saturday night with 26 hours of live entertainment broadcast on Channel 7 and 7plus.
For the first time, it will be shown across the nation, with interstate viewers able to continue watching on 7flix when Sunday’s Sunrise begins.
The broadcast is set to showcase heart-warming stories, special guests, and the generosity of Western Australians.
On Sunday, the Telethon Family Festival returns to the streets around RAC Arena, packed with free entertainment, food trucks, family activities, and more.
