Motorists are being told to expect a chaotic peak-hour on Thursday afternoon, with a highly-anticipated AFL game set to cause heavy congestion across Perth roads.
Main Roads WA issued an alert telling those travelling on Graham Farmer Freeway, through the eastbound tunnel or through Perth’s CBD from 4pm to allow for extra travel time.
With Optus Stadium gates set to open at 4.30pm ahead of Dockers taking on the Swans at 6.10pm, heavy foot traffic and frequently stopping vehicles are expected.
Attendees are urged to catch a train or bus to the game, with public transport included with tickets.
Drivers are also reminded to check signs for tow away zones before parking around the stadium.
