VideoThe nation's fuel crisis is spilling into workplaces, with some employers reporting problems with staff getting to work or not showing up at all.

Perth drivers will be able to fill-up at the cheapest price in weeks on Saturday, as petrol prices continue to trend down across the metro area.

Close to 30 service stations in the metro region will have fuel at under $2 a litre, a once high benchmark now seen as a welcome relief in the wake of war in the Middle East.

Burk Cannington will offer unleaded petrol at just 188.3 cents per litre on Saturday, the only station selling for under 190 cents.

The last time fuel was as cheap in Perth was March 11, when Costco Airport and Casuarina offered fuel for 184.7 cents a litre and Burk Cannington at 187.3.

A combination of Vibe, Burk, Atlas and Costco stations make up the vast majority of Perth’s sub-$2 offerings tomorrow.

The average price of unleaded will drop more than four cents a litre from Friday to 216.5c, with prices at all major brands dropping.

While still well above $3 a litre, diesel prices are also coming down around six cents on Saturday to sit at an average of 315.9c in Perth.

The slight relief at the bowser comes as the price of oil dropped earlier this week on the news Iran and the US had reached a ceasefire.

The drop was short lived, however, as the shaky status of ceasefire deal means the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, leaving oil prices significantly higher than before the war at just under $100 a barrel.

Earlier this month the Federal Government cut the fuel excise in half to 26.3 cents a litre and the States and Territories said they would forgo a further 5.7 cents in GST applied to fuel prices.

The combination was touted to save motorists 32 cents, but economists expressed concern the relief would be short lived.
