Rising West Australian footballers Aaron Naughton and Tim English are regarded as the future of the Western Bulldogs.

And the two mates say they are happy to remain together at Footscray for a long time to come after breakout seasons.

Naughton and English were first together for WA in the state Under 18s.

They now find themselves living together as they find their feet in Melbourne.

“It’s a big move coming from WA,” Naughton said.

“I was just trying to get weight on,” English recalled of his arrival at the Bulldogs.

“Think I was 89 kilograms, I think we were talking about the other day.”

Now tipping the scales at 100kg, and with Naughton locked away on a long-term contract after a breakout performance against Richmond in round 7, the duo say they want to repay the faith the Doggies have shown them.

“If you asked most players if they’d like to be one-club players, they’d say they’d like to,” English said.

“Personally, if the opportunity allows me to stay a one-club player, that’s something I’d really like to be able to do.”
