Perth Wildcats release contracted pair Sunday Dech and Lat Mayen ahead of NBL Free Agency

Perth Wildcats have opened up two more spots on their roster ahead of the start of free agency by releasing Sunday Dech and Lat Mayen from their contracts.
Dech signed a three-year deal with the Wildcats when he joined the club for the 25-26 season, while Mayen locked in a two-year contract. But both men struggled for opportunities last season and won’t remain with the club.
Dech has injury concerns at the start of the season and averaged only 10 minutes per game while coming off the bench.
Mayen’s average time on court was only seven minutes. He received a late chance to be part of the starting five when the Wildcats were battling injuries in February but didn’t have a big impact and only got minutes in one other match for the remainder of the season.

The decisions to release the pair means the Wildcats can now target two more Australians.
The Wildcats will enter free agency with imports Kristian Doolittle and Dylan Windler locked away, while Jo Lual-Acuil, Ben Henshall, Jaron Rillie, Next Star Noa Kouakou-Heugue and Development Player Cam Huefner are also under contract.
NBL Free Agency opens on Friday as the Wildcats look to improve on the roster that made the semifinals.
