Ski queen Johaug wins 14th world title

Therese Johaug has made it four world titles from four cross-country races with the imperious Norwegian winning the 30 kilometres crown by the biggest-ever margin.

Johaug broke the field early on Saturday and beat second-placed teammate Heidi Weng by two minutes 34.2 seconds.

The margin was over 40 seconds more than the 1:45.9 gap when Norway's Marit Bjoergen beat Finland's Krista Parmakoski at the 2018 Olympics.

Johaug, 32, has also won the 10km, skiathlon and relay gold in Oberstdorf for her most successful world championship.

With 14 world titles overall, she is now joint-second all-time with Russian Elena Vaelbe, four behind Bjoergen.

"It is a fantastic experience to come here and get four golds," Johaug told Norwegian broadcasters NRK.

"I know that there is a lot of pressure on me out there, and you have to fulfil it every day. I feel a little touched now. You get older and older and know that this life will end soon."
