VideoAFL: Angus Sheldrick banned for elbow to Reuben Ginbey's head.

Angus Sheldrick is set to miss Gather Round after being handed a one-match suspension for elbowing West Coast defender Reuben Ginbey in the head off the ball.

The on-field umpires missed the moment during the final quarter of Sydney’s 128-point wholloping of a hapless Eagles on Saturday night.

However, it was caught clearly on camera as the West Australian Swan appeared to go to engage in a bump with Ginbey before raising an elbow into the key defender’s head.

Ginbey felt no ill effects from the blow and copped another to the ribs by Isaac Heeney, who starred with four goals and 26 disposals, immediately after.

However, the Match Review Officer deemed the hit intentional, low-impact, and high-contact and issued a one-game ban.

“This is no good from Sheldrick,” David King said on commentary at the time.

West Coast’s young star Harley Reid was penalised with a 50-metre penalty for remonstrating with Sheldrick after the hit.

Sheldrick will now miss a mouthwatering contest against Gold Coast at Norwood Oval.

Two Eagles were also handed fines for striking on Saturday night.

Forward Jake Waterman was fined $2500 with an early guilty plea, reducing the fine to $1500, while first-year ruck-forward Cooper Duff Tytler was also sanctioned.

The youngster can accept a $2000 fine with an early guilty plea.
