The baby who died in a horror rideshare car crash in the early hours of Saturday has been remembered as having “the most beautiful smile”.

The little girl was only seven months old when she died after the Toyota Kluger she was in smashed through a bus stop bench then slammed into a tree on Nicholson Road in Lynwood.

Her 32-year-old mother and three-year-old sister were also in the car with the toddler sustaining serious injuries and having to undergo surgery at Perth Children’s Hospital.

The mum was discharged from Fiona Stanley Hospital on Saturday afternoon.

The family of little Skye have set up a GoFundMe page, to help ease the costs of her funeral and for a headstone to honour her.

“No family should ever have to experience this kind of pain. Our hearts are shattered as we try to come to terms with losing such a precious little soul.

“We are raising funds to help ease the financial burden on the family during this incredibly difficult time.”

The deadly crash occurred just after 3am on Saturday on Nicholson Road in Lynwood.

Police are continuing to investigate whether the baby was restrained in a child car seat with the fatal crash sparking WA’s top cop to call for a review into legislation on car seats in rideshare vehicles.

In Western Australia, taxis and rideshare vehicles are exempt from installing child car seats, and babies under one are permitted to sit on a parent or guardian’s lap.

The 35-year-old rideshare vehicle driver from Caversham walked away with only minor injuries and has since been charged with one count of dangerous driving occasioning death and two counts of dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm.

He is due before Armadale Magistrates Court on April 20.
