Fans of the stage came together on Saturday for an acting workshop with a National Institute of Dramatic Arts-trained director.

Bunbury-based Sharon Kennedy attended Manjimup Repertory Theatre at the weekend to host a workshop that focused on warm- up exercises and tips and tricks for dissecting scripts.

About 15 people attended the workshop on Saturday.

“It was absolutely fabulous, there’s lots of talent here,” she said. “It was lovely to pass on things that I’ve had the opportunity to learn.”

Ms Kennedy said warm-up exercises were just as important for actors as they were for athletes.

“For actors, they must warm up their voices and warm up physically,” she said.

“Today we had a lot of emphasis on movement.”

Ms Kennedy is aiming to cast a comedy called Fibs to be performed in Manjimup.

Fibs is laugh-out-loud comedy about lies and their consequences.
