Awards honour the service to community

The shires of Bridgetown-Greenbushes, Boyup Brook and Manjimup held their official Australia Day proceedings on Sunday, recognising those who contributed to the community with Citizen of the Year awards.

For the Shire of Manjimup, Ian Wilson was Citizen of the Year, Colin Griffiths was Youth Citizen of the Year, Jim Sale was Senior Citizen of the Year and the Community Group or Event award was awarded to the Northcliffe Pioneer Museum.

For the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes, Pat Scallan was Citizen of the Year, Blair Bermingham was Youth Citizen of the Year, Barbara Dickson was Senior Citizen of the Year and the Community Group or Event award was awarded to the RoadWise Advisory Committee Mystery Tour of Life.

For the Shire of Boyup Brook, Betty Knapp was Citizen of the Year, Tara Reid was Sportsperson of the Year and Gyula Bogar received the Kevin Henderson Memorial Award.

As well as the awards, people were treated to barbecue breakfasts and entertainment.
