A rhapsody of talent is due to come to the shores of the Blackwood River for the annual Blackwood Rhapsody concert.

Now in its third year, the concert has unveiled its line-up for its upcoming event on February 8, to be held at Bridgedale House.

The night is headlined by BAFTA-winning singer-songwriter Emily Barker, in a homecoming show for the Britain-based artist. Some of the songs Barker will play are from her album Dear River — a work inspired by the Blackwood River — which the concert venue overlooks.

She is supported by Formidable Vegetable and Rastatrix as well as a strong contingent of local musicians, including Bridgetown’s Jubilee Singers, Blackwood Valley act The Riders, the Rising Stars and the All Stars. The All Stars are made up of Ashley Arbuckle on violin, Sally Bould on viola, Geoff Bourgault on clarinet and David Bardsley on guitar.

The Rising Stars for this year’s concert are Sophie Boswell and Charlie and Olivia Youngson. The proceeds of the concert will be donated to the St Vincent De Paul society.
