Blackwood bike tour gets 2018 go-ahead

Bridgetown Rotary Club has confirmed the Tour of the Blackwood bicycle ride will return next year on Sunday, April 22.

Bridgetown event race chairman Bill Anderson said the club had changed the race day to a Sunday to encourage keen cyclists to take part in club events the before the race.

“We had a huge amount of positive feedback by email and Facebook after this year's ride, and this change was requested by a number of people,” he said.

The event will start and finish at the Bridgetown sports ground with options to race over 130km, 63km and 26km courses.

The inaugural ride raised $25,000 to support Blackwood Youth Action in delivering youth mental health services via GP Down South.

Online registrations for the tour are expected to go live this month.
