Book box marks a sharing spirit
Spreading the joy of reading has been made a little easier thanks to the kindness of a Manjimup woman.
Barbara Ford lives on Hospital Avenue and has created a book box for people to take a free book, CD or DVD.
While people can leave or exchange books, CDs or DVDs, Ms Ford said she was more than happy for people to just take a book.
“Because I’m by the hospital, I thought it’d be great for people wanting books, CDs and DVDs,” she said.
The book box is secured to Ms Ford’s front fence so there is no chance of it falling on children and the tin roof edges have been covered so it cannot cut people.
“I put the idea online to see if people wanted a book box and I haven’t heard a single person against it,” Ms Ford said.
“It’s good to do something for the community, I really hope it goes well.
“I think it’d be great if other people around town got on board and made book boxes too.”
