Book Week’s best win costume awards
Kearnan College kicked off Book Week festivities on Monday with a whole-school parade for students and staff to show off their creativity.
The annual parade was held from 9am on Monday as students from kindergarten to Year 12 strutted their stuff to show off their costume deigns.
Principal Jason Meynell congratulated all the students and the staff for participating in the day.
“It’s great to see older students who lead by example,” he said.
“Thank you to all the parents for their support and creativity.”
Winners at the book parade were Year 1’s Molly Hull for her Minecraft Pig costume, Year 2’s Ruby Brown with her book fairy costume and teacher Tracy Hogendoorn for her Willy Wonka costume.
Year 7’s Tyson Jacob won an award for his Pig the Elf costume and Year 12’s Chelsea Brown won for her Princess Leia costume.
Ruby said she really liked her costume.
“I was excited about winning,” she said.
