Boyup Brook Shire Council chief executive Chris Smith has retired after six months in the job.

His departure was announced by shire president Richard Walker in an online press release today.

“On behalf of council, I would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to Chris for the work he has done in the past six months in progressing Boyup Brook and we wish him all the best in his retirement,” Cr Walker said.

Mr Dittrich has been with the council in a full-time capacity since December, 2019 and previously served as the chief executive of the Shire of Murchison.

Mr Dittrich paid tribute to the outgoing chief executive.

“Chris achieved an amazing amount while he was at the Shire of Boyup Brook,” he said.

“We have two doctors in Boyup Brook, I think that is a pretty specky achievement in the limited time that he had, just to name one of his great achievements.”
