Bridgetown put together yet another strong victory in what is proving to be a stellar 2021 season, this time a 43-point win on the road against the Cougars. The Bulldogs burst out of the blocks against Kojonup, once again showing how unrelenting their offence can be as they hammered on the goals, scoring four goals and six behinds in the opening term. However, the Cougars capitalised on their chance to hit the board, getting one goal back for themselves. The home side turned up the pressure in the second quarter, determined not to let the Bulldogs run away with the game, and even equalled the visitors’ scoring for the term as both sides kicked just one goal and two behinds. With a four goal margin separating the teams at half-time, there was plenty to play for as the third quarter got under way. The Cougars had a handful of scoring opportunities but were inaccurate, kicking one goal and three behinds for the term. Meanwhile, Bridgetown returned to their attacking ways and booted five goals, pushing the margin out to 47 points before the final break. The Dogs did not have the runaway last quarter they would have hoped for, managing only three behinds while the Cougars snagged another major and a behind, but the league-leaders were still victorious 10.13 (73) to 4.6 (30). Bridgetown will enjoy a bye for round 16 while the Cougars get another game on their home deck against the Southerners.
