The Southern Stage Performing Arts Studio Inc is preparing to take to the stage at the Cherry Festival this weekend.

The not-for-profit dance studio is a specialist across numerous styles and genres, including jazz, tap, ballet, acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical, hip hop and boot-scooting.

Studio chair Dee Forsman said they were a busy bunch, taking part in many performances and competitions and rehearsing several times during the week.

“We do classes five days a week, so there’s always rehearsals going on and classes from Monday to Friday,” she said.

“In the past, we have experienced performing in nursing homes and the Wellness Centre, we’ve also competed in Perth competitions and will continue to perform where ever we can.”

The studio and its performers are fresh from their end-of-year concert last weekend and will be performing some of their concert routines at the Cherry Festival, choreographed by their teacher Ms Karlee.

Ms Forsman said the studio was excited to perform at the weekend and hoped to do their best.

“We hope to see you there and look forward to showing everyone what we have been working hard on all year,” she said.
