Comedic confusion in classic who-dunnit

Manjimup Repertory Club opened its doors to the public for the first time this year with its production of Who Did You Say You Were?
The comedic murder mystery was directed by Jono Rose and featured veterans on the stage and a couple of new faces.
The play follows 10 characters who are at a B&B for a murder mystery weekend.
The first characters the audience met were detectives Geoff Crosswell and Sue Gardiner, played by Gareth Evans and Elle Yovkoff respectively, and Alan and Chrissie Beaumont, played by Rajiv Pragash and Tari Jeffers.

The audience learnt early on that Sue was frustrated they had gone away for a weekend, only to do more of what they do day-to-day and Chrissie was hoping to get her husband to relax from work.
It is surprising for everyone then, when Geoff seemingly starts to talk to thin air, which we then learn is because he can talk to ghosts, this one in the form of Vic, played by Gordon Norris.
It is then up to B&B owner Lizzie, played by Hazel Brisbane, to corral those characters and the rest of the cast of colourful characters, made up of Jennifer, the Celebrity, Bert and Slugger, played by Maree Rooney, Howard Evans, Wayne Herdigan and Rose.

The show’s fast pace keeps the comedy coming and the few dropped lines or awkward pauses are covered by the confusing subject matter and quick catches from other cast members.
People who love whodunnit, comedy and ridiculous characters should certainly catch Who Did You Say You Were this weekend, during the second and last weekend of the show’s run.
There is a Friday 7.30pm show and a 2pm Saturday show.
Tickets are available through the Manjimup Repertory Club’s Facebook page, at the Manjimup library or at the door if there are seats remaining.
