Two defibrillators have been installed at the Northcliffe Hotel and at the St John Ambulance sub-centre.
They join the other three already in the area, at the general store, the Motor Inn and one in Windy Harbour.
Northcliffe St John Ambulance volunteer Jonathon Patterson said in addition to knowing where the defibrillators were, it would be beneficial to also download the First Responder app.
“It provides the locations of the nearest Automatic External Defibrillator and has a range of First Aid Action Plans for quick reference,” he said.
“It also has a CPR metronome to help first-aiders keep rhythm.”
Defibrillators can also be bought from any St John Ambulance sub-centre. This year, any business that buys an eligible AED pack has a chance to win a $3000 travel voucher or an Oculus Go all-in-one virtual reality headset.
Northcliffe St John Ambulance will hold a free CPR and defibrillator demonstration on November 3 from 11am.
“This one-hour defibrillation course will provide participants with the basic knowledge and understanding of how to use a defibrillator in an emergency situation,” Mr Patterson said.
