Major crash investigators are seeking information about a fatal crash that happened outside Bridgetown on Saturday.

About 11.30am, the Holden Astra was travelling south on South Western Highway when, about 300m north of the intersection of Press Road, the car failed to negotiate a bend in the road and hit a tree.

A 58-year-old Orelia man who was a passenger in the car died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 24-year-old Orelia woman on a learner’s permit, and a 21-year-old male passenger from Toodyay, were both taken to Bridgetown Hospital by St John Ambulance.
